TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH GGC ENGINEERS, INC., FOR ENGINEERING DESIGN SERVICES FOR THE ORCHARD DRIVE SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT NO. 757; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $7,190; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, the Orchard Drive area has been having sanitary sewer problems for a long time and the City Engineer feels it is time to pursue a remedy; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has obtained letter quote for survey services, design, bidding and construction inspection/administration for a proposed new 8" sanitary sewer for approximately 680 feet on Orchard and Parkland Drives; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to proceed with this at the earliest date possible, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with GCC Engineers, Inc., 104 Mill Street, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, for engineering services for survey services, design, bidding and construction inspection/administration for the proposed Orchard Drive sanitary sewer, Improvement No. 757.
Section 2. That the amount of Seven Thousand One Hundred Ninety Dollars ($7,190) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the Sewer Fund to Account No. 661.360.5533, Capital Projects Sewer, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That for the reason stated in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on the date of signature approval by the Mayor.
