AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND BY REPEALING AND REPLACING PART FIVE, GENERAL OFFENSES CODE, CHAPTER 521, HEALTH, SAFETY, AND SANITATION, OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA.
BODY
WHEREAS, the Administration is requesting legislation that replaces existing section 521.06, Duty to Keep Sidewalks in Repair, of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Gahanna, with new sidewalk construction, repair, and replacement code that incorporates the proposed Sidewalk Maintenance Program; and
WHEREAS, while the maintenance and repair of sidewalks remains the responsibility of abutting property owners, the Sidewalk Maintenance Program will allow the City to proactively maintain sidewalks and increase affordability for residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That Chapter 521.06, Duty to Keep Sidewalks in Repair and Clean, of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Gahanna, is hereby amended as set forth in EXHIBIT A, attached hereto.
Section 2. That existing Chapter 521.06, Duty to Keep Sidewalks in Repair and Clean, of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Gahanna, or any Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
