TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH STILSON CONSULTING GROUP FOR DESIGN OF LANDSCAPING AND DECORATIVE LIGHTING SYSTEM FOR THE HIGH STREET REBUILD, IMPROVEMENT NO. 801; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $15,600; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, with the rebuild of High Street it is the perfect time to install decorative lighting and landscaping while the street will be torn up; and

 

WHEREAS, Stilson Consulting Group has submitted a proposal and the City Engineer has recommended that we accept it; and

 

WHEREAS, it is necessary to proceed with the High Street Rebuild during the coming construction season, all for the preservation of the public peace health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with STILSON CONSULTING GROUP, 7610 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, Ohio 43235, for design work for decorative lighting and landscaping for the High Street Rebuild, Improvement No. 801, in accordance with City specifications.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of FIFTEEN THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated Balance of the General Fund, to Account No. 101.145.5533, Capital Projects, Engineering, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That ORD-0001-2002, passed January 2, 2002, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation. 

 

Section 4.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
