WHEREAS, the City must pay property taxes on City owned properties until an application for exemption is filed and approved; and

WHEREAS, property taxes were assessed on three properties for the first time in 2011; and

WHEREAS, once the application for exemption is approved the City will receive a refund for the back taxes paid;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

Section 1.  That funding in the amount of SIXTY TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($62,500) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the General Fund to Account No. 101.135.5299, Tax Payments, to cover the herein costs.

Section 2.  That ORD-0001-2011, passed January 3, 2011, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.

Section 3.  That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
