A RESOLUTION OF INTENT OF THIS COUNCIL AND ADMINISTRATION TOWARD WIDENING OF HAMILTON ROAD FROM CLARK STATE ROAD TO U.S. ROUTE 62

WHEREAS, the Franklin County Engineer has approached this Council and Administration in his concern for the continuing increase of traffic accessing Hamilton Road, and has made a proposal toward widening this road to 5 lanes; and

 

WHEREAS, Gahanna City Council, by Ordinance 118-87 has authorized the Mayor to enter into cooperative agreement with the Franklin County Engineer for the design and construction of widening of Hamilton Road;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That it is the stated intent of this Council to proceed with the design of the segment of Hamilton Road from Rocky Fork Creek to U.S. Route 62.

 

Section 2.  That this Council and Administration restate their commitment to the preservation of a residential character in the particular area of Hamilton Road beginning Clark State Road to U.S. 62, as expressed in Resolution 16-97.

 

Section 3.  That it is the stated intent of this Council to appropriate Forty Thousand Dollars ($40,000) annually from the General Fund commencing 1997 and ending in 2002 for a total of Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000), for the purpose of repaying the Franklin County Engineer for the cost of 5-lane engineering, if said option is deemed inappropriate by a future Council.

 

Section 4.  That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council.
