TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH J.D. EQUIPMENT, INC., FOR A 72" 797 Z MOWER; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $800; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City is in great need of a 72" 797 Z Mower for storm water maintenance; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has recommended that we proceed with J.D. Equipment; and

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this due to the impending mowing season, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Purchase Agreement with J.D. EQUIPMENT, INC., 1660 US Rt. 42 NE, London, Ohio 43140, for a 72" 797 Z Mower for storm water maintenance; said purchase to be made off the State Contract  #777515E.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS ($800) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the Storm Water Fund to Account No. 631.350.5510, Storm Water, Minor Capital, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That funding in the amount of ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000) was set aside in the 2006 Appropriations to Account No. 631.350.5510, Storm Water, Minor Capital, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 4.  That ORD-0001-2006, passed January 2, 2006, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.

 

Section 5.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
