TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH ICOP FOR EQUIPMENT TO UPFIT A DODGE RAM POLICE SPECIALTY VEHICLE; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the Police Department is purchasing a Dodge Ram police specialty vehicle and it needs equipping and upfitting of necessary equipment and accessories; and
WHEREAS, ICOP is providing some of the equipment to upfit this specialty vehicle; and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has recommended we proceed with ICOP in order to purchase the needed equipment to upfit this vehicle; and
WHEREAS, in order to be able to purchase this equipment at the same time as all the other equipment to make it available as soon as possible upon purchase of the vehicle, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into agreement with ICOP for purchase of equipment to upfit a 2013 Dodge Ram 1500; quote attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of ONE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED EIGHTEEN DOLLARS ($1,918) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the Law Enforcement Trust Fund, To Account No. 225.211.5512, LETF - Capital Equipment, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That ORD-0001-2012, passed January 2, 2012, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
