TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH MOODY NOLAN, INC., FOR ADDITIONAL ENGINEERING FOR THE INTERSECTION AT HAMILTON ROAD AND VISTA DRIVE; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, intersection improvements are needed at Hamilton Road and Vista Drive to accommodate future development for the extension of Vista Drive; and
WHEREAS, this project was selected to receive grant monies and the county is in charge of the construction and inspection, and the City pays for the right of way, which necessitates beginning the project as soon as possible; and
WHEREAS, because of the upcoming construction season, it is imperative to move forward with this project, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with Moody Nolan, Inc., 300 Spruce Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215, for additional engineering for the intersection of Hamilton Road and Vista Drive; proposal attached.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of NINETEEN THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED SIXTY FIVE DOLLARS ($19,465) was appropriated in a prior year, and encumbered to Account No. 101.145.5533, Capital Projects Engineering, and can be accessed from purchase order 47715, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
