A RESOLUTION TO SUPPORT THE NATIONAL CHURCH RESIDENCES' APPLICATION FOR LOW INCOME HOUSING TAX CREDITS FOR STYGLER COMMONS APARTMENTS.

WHEREAS, the Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) is requesting applications for the Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program (LIHTC) from developers to create affordable housing; and
WHEREAS, the allocation plan for the LIHTC offers competitive points for local government support in the form of a City Council resolution; and
WHEREAS, National Church Residences is proposing the rehabilitation of the existing housing at 165 North Stygler Road, commonly known as Stygler Commons Apartments (the project); and
WHEREAS, the project will contain 32 affordable housing units; and
WHEREAS, the project will have occupancy restricted to elderly households that have at least one adult that is age sixty-two (62) or older;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the City of Gahanna supports the application submitted by National Church Residences to the Ohio Housing Finance Agency for Low Income Housing Tax Credit financing for the rehabilitation of Stygler Commons Apartments.
Section 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
