WHEREAS, bids were received on June 2, 2000, pursuant to Council authorization, and the best, responsible and responsive bidder has been recommended; and

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to proceed with this legislation to get the vehicle on the streets at the earliest date possible, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Director of Public Service is authorized to award and the Mayor is authorized to enter into Contract with BYERS CHEVROLET, 555 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio, for the purchase of a 4WD Sport Utility Vehicle in accordance with bid submitted June 2, 2000, and in accordance with City Specifications.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of THIRTY FOUR THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS ($34,725) was set aside in the 2000 Appropriations in Account No. 101.211.5512, Capital Projects/Equipment, Police, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That,  for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and signature approval by the Mayor.  That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after signature of approval by the Mayor.
