TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO SPECTRUM LEASE AGREEMENT WITH SENSUS USA INC./SENSUS SPECTRUM, LLC, FOR ADVANCED METERING INFRASTRUCTURE TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND LICENSES.

WHEREAS, our Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) requires us to pay a yearly maintenance fee for technical support and licenses; and
WHEREAS, our meter system uses radio frequencies to transmit data from each transmitter to City Hall and the radio frequency spectrum used is authorized by Sensus Federal Communications Commission licenses and is leased to the City; and
WHEREAS, Sensus requires that the City sign a new spectrum lease agreement each year;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a Spectrum Lease Agreement with Sensus USA Inc./Sensus Spectrum, LLC, 8601 Six Forks Road, Suite 700, Raleigh, North Carolina, 27615, for Advanced Metering Infrastructure Technical support and licenses; Lease Agreement attached as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of EIGHTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS ($1,800) was set aside in the 2012 Appropriations to Account No. 651.350.5332, Water, Water Meters, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
