TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO LEASE AGREEMENT WITH THE VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS POST NO. 4719

WHEREAS, the Veterans of Foreign Wars has approached the City about leasing their ballfield for a part of our recreational programs; and
WHEREAS, the entity previously leasing the field and running the adult softball program has opted not to continue this year; and
WHEREAS, this program is an integral part of the summer recreation experience in Gahanna; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Parks & Recreation is recommending that we move forward with a lease and run the program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into "Lease Agreement" with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post No. 4719, said Agreement attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000) is available in in the 2003 Appropriations, in Account No. 101.432.5423, Program Escrow, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after signature of approval by the Mayor.
