TO AUTHORIZE A TEMPORARY APPROPRIATION FROM 2009 IN THE AMOUNT OF 15% OF THE TOTAL 2008 AUTHORIZED SALARIES AND BENEFITS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING THE JANUARY 2, 2009 PAYROLL

WHEREAS, funding for the January 2, 2009 payroll must be authorized prior to the passage of the 2009 appropriations to cover the January 2, 2009 payroll; and
WHEREAS, a temporary appropriation in the amount of 15% of the total 2008 authorized salaries and benefits will be sufficient to cover said payroll;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That a temporary appropriation in the amount of 15% of the total 2008 authorized salaries and benefits is hereby authorized.
Section 2. That these funds are to meet payroll for time worked in 2008.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
