TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT AMENDMENT WITH GEORGE J. IGEL & CO., INC. FOR SANITARY SEWER EXTENSION, IMP. SA# 921, AT HANNAH FARMS PARK; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, ORD-0282-2007 authorized a contract with George J. Igel & Co. for Phase 1 construction of Hannah Farms Park; and

 

WHEREAS, circumstances necessitate that the sanitary sewer system of the City be extended to allow for the replacement of a leach bed adjacent to Hannah Farms Park; and

 

WHEREAS, a supplemental is required to complete this change to the contract; and

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward immediately as construction of the park is underway, and all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is authorized to enter into amendment to contract with GEORGE J. IGEL & CO., INC., 2040 Alum Creek Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43207, for Sanitary Sewer Extension, Imp. SA# 921 for the Hannah Farms Park project; in accordance with City specifications; said change order attached as EXHIBIT A.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of TWENTY EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS ($28,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unappropriated, unencumbered balance of the SSCI Funds to Account No. 662.361.5596, SSCI, Capital Projects Improvements, to cover the herein costs. 

 

Section 3.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
