TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO GRANT EASEMENT FOR COLUMBIA GAS OF OHIO, INC., FOR PROPERTY LOCATED ON HAVENS CORNERS ROAD EAST OF HELMBRIGHT; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, Columbia Gas of Ohio, Inc., has presented Easement to the City of Gahanna in order to lay gas pipeline through an area of city owned property on Havens Corners Road; and
WHEREAS, Columbia Gas of Ohio, Inc., has agreed to work with the Parks and Recreation Department in producing the least amount of destruction to the area during this construction; and
WHEREAS, it is the middle of construction season and Columbia Gas would like to begin this work in a timely fashion in order to complete it yet this construction season, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Easement with COLUMBIA GAS OF OHIO, INC., 200 Civic Center Drive, P.O. Box 117, Columbus, Ohio 43216-0117, said Easement attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
