Title
TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO AWARD AND THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH RUMPKE OF OHIO, INC., FOR RESIDENTIAL REFUSE, RECYCLING & YARD WASTE COLLECTION IN THE CITY OF GAHANNA.
 
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna participates in a solid waste consortium that consists of nine other communities in the Central Ohio area and the consortium obtained bids for a new contract; and
 
WHEREAS, bids were opened on May 20, 2014, and the lowest, most responsive and responsible bidder has been recommended by the Director of Public Service; and
 
WHEREAS, the Contract will be as described in the bid documents as Status Quo Bid, Exhibit A - Bid Forms - Part I (commonly referred to as Status Quo); and
 
WHEREAS, the term of the Contract will be for three (3) years with the option to renew two one-year periods upon mutual consent;
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
 
Section 1.  That the Director of Public Service is hereby authorized to award and the Mayor is authorized to enter into Contract with RUMPKE WASTE & RECYCLING SERVICES, 1191 Fields Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43201, for collection of residential refuse, recycling, and yard waste in the City of Gahanna, in accordance with bid and City specifications; said contract attached as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.
 
Section 2.  That funding will be set aside in the 2015 Appropriations, as well as subsequent years, to cover any herein costs.
 
Section 3.  That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
