TO REAPPROVE THE CONTRACT WITH ORCHARD, HILTZ & MCCLIMENT, INC., (OHM) FOR DETAILED DESIGN AND ENVIRONMENTAL WORK FOR THE SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOLS PROJECT TO CONFORM TO THE FEDERAL FORMAT; IMPROVEMENT NO. ST 961; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, ORD-0114-2011 authorized the consultant contract with OHM, and ORD-0169-2011 extended the scope of the contract; and
WHEREAS, since the time the OHM contract was approved ODOT has discovered that to meet the federal reimbursement requirements the consultant contract must conform to the federal format; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to reapprove the consultant contract on the new contract form; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this ordinance so that the project will not be delayed, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That Council hereby reapproves the contract with ORCHARD, HILTZ & MCCLIMENT, INC., (OHM) 600 Creekside Plaza, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, for the Safe Routes to Schools project; Improvement No. ST 961; to conform to the federal format.
Section 2. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
