TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH GERMAIN FORD, FOR PURCHASE OF 3 FORD F-250 PICKUP TRUCKS; FROM THE STATE CONTRACT #RS 900812, INDEX GDC093, ITEM #20AT; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City is in need of 3 pickup trucks to replace 6 vehicles which were inoperable due to rust or mechanical failure in the Parks & Recreation Department; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Parks & Recreation to proceed to purchase these vehicles from Germain Ford; and
WHEREAS, the trucks can be purchased off the State Contract #RS 900812, Index GDC093, Item #20AT; and
WHEREAS, peak season is approaching for the Parks & Recreation Department and it is imperative to have these trucks delivered before the peak season begins, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into purchase agreement with GERMAIN FORD, 7250 Sawmill Road, Columbus, OH 43235, for the purchase of 3 Ford F-250 Pickup Trucks with strobe lights, 2-way radios and graphics, off the State Contract, #RS 900812, Index GDC093, Item #20AT; quote attached as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of SIXTY THREE THOUSAND, SIX HUNDRED SEVENTY THREE DOLLARS ($63,673) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unappropriated, unencumbered balance of the General Fund to Account No. 101.512.5515, Fleet Maintenance, Equipment Replacement Program, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That second reading of this ordinance is hereby waived.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
