TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AMENDED CONTRACT WITH STILSON CONSULTING GROUP, FOR DESIGN WORK ON THE LEAVITT ROAD PORTION OF THE HERMITAGE AND LEAVITT ROADS IIMPROVEMENT, IMP. #833; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, additional engineering services for completion of the design work for the Leavitt Road reconstruction are needed; and
WHEREAS, Stilson Consulting Group was authorized by ORD-0026-2003 to do the design work for the Hermitage Road reconstruction; and
WHEREAS, the Leavitt Road reconstruction has been added to the Hermitage Road project; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward due to the impending construction season, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into amended contract with STILSON CONSULTING GROUP, 7610 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, Ohio 43235, for additional design work for the Leavitt Road portion of the Hermitage Road and Leavitt Road reconstruction, Imp. #833, in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of TEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($10,500) was appropriated to Account No. 101.145.5533, Capital Projects, Engineering, Hermitage in the 2003 Appropriations and is hereby authorized to be used for design work for the Leavitt Road portion of the reconstruction.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
