TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH ORCHARD, HILTZ & MCCLIMENT, INC. (OHM) FOR ENGINEERING STUDY FOR THE SOUDER DITCH STREAM RESTORATION PROJECT; IMPROVEMENT NO. ST 980; AND TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $2,560 THEREFOR.

WHEREAS, the Souder Ditch Watershed is tributary to Rocky Fork Creek and passes through the northern portion of Gahanna Woods and travels through the Farm Creek subdivision; and
WHEREAS, the portion that runs through Farm Creek is experiencing erosion and has been identified by the Franklin Soil and Water Conservation District to have a degraded water quality; and
WHEREAS, an engineering study needs to be performed to identify possible solutions and OHM has submitted a proposal for the work and the City Engineer has recommended we proceed with them for the study;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with ORCHARD, HILTZ & MCCLIMENT, INC., 600 Creekside Plaza, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, for engineering study for the Souder Ditch Stream Restoration project; Proposal attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($50,000) was set aside in the 2012 Appropriations to Account No. 631.350.5596, Stormwater Capital Projects/Improvements, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That funding in the amount of TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED SIXTY DOLLARS ($2,560) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the Stormwater Fund to Account No. 631.350.5596, to further cover the herein costs.
Section 4. That ORD-0001-2012, passed January 2, 2012, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 5. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
