TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH SPEER MECHANICAL, FOR INSTALLATION OF AN ADDITIONAL A/C UNIT; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $11,954 THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, it has been discovered that the computer server room in City Hall needs additional cooling due to high temperatures; and

 

WHEREAS, Speer Mechanical currently maintains the City's cooling system; and

 

WHEREAS, it is necessary to move forward with this project in a timely fashion; all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with Speer Mechanical, Dept. 576, Columbus, Ohio 43265, for installation of an additional A/C unit, said services to be in accordance with proposal letter, attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and all in accordance with City Specifications.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of ELEVEN THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED FIFTY FOUR ($11,954) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the General Fund to Account No. 101.141.5511 Lands and Buildings Capital, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That Ordinance No. ORD-0001-2003, passed January 2, 2003, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.

 

Section 4.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on the date of signature approval by the Mayor.
