TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH UTILITY TRUCK EQUIPMENT, INC., FOR PURCHASE OF AN AERIAL BUCKET TRUCK FOR THE STREET DEPARTMENT; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the Street Department is in need of an aerial bucket truck and the City can purchase one off the State Contract #7751501309; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has recommended that we proceed to purchase the truck from Utility Truck Equipment; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to get this truck into service as soon as possible to ease the strain on our existing equipment and to be able to order before the expiration of the state contract in April, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into purchase agreement with UTILITY TRUCK EQUIPMENT, INC., 23893 U.S. 23 South, Circleville, Ohio 43113, for an aerial bucket truck; to purchase said bucket Truck off State Contract #7751501309; more particularly described in EXHIBIT A, attached hereto and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of ONE HUNDRED NINE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED SIXTY FIVE DOLLARS ($109,865) was set aside in the 2013 Appropriations in Account No. 220.330.5512, Streets, Capital Equipment, to cover the herein cost.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
