TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO AWARD AND THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH AMERICAN ROCK SALT CO., LLC, FOR ROCK SALT FOR THE 1999-2000 SEASON

WHEREAS, bids were opened on September 3, 1999, pursuant to Council authorization, and the best, responsible, and responsive bidder has been recommended by the Director of Public Service; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to proceed with this purchase at the earliest possible date;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Director of Public Service is authorized to award and the Mayor authorized to enter into contract for rock salt for the 1999-2000 Season with AMERICAN ROCK SALT CO., LLC, 1510 Pennsylvania Avenue, Peckville, Pennsylvania 18452, in accordance with bid and City specifications.
Section 2. That funding was set aside in the 1999 Appropriations to Account No. 220.330.5321, Street Material, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
