TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH STICKLEN-BELSHEIM ENGINEERING FOR EXPANDED TRAFFIC ENGINEERING STUDIES; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $24,089 THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City Engineer has requested an expansion of a current agreement with Sticklen-Belsheim Engineering to include Hamilton Road and Johnstown Road in order that the City is cognizant of plans to the north of the City; and
WHEREAS, letter, dated September 29, 1999, along with Scope of Expanded Services has been received by the City and is recommended by the Administration; and
WHEREAS, due to the pending traffic study by the contractor, it is desirable to effect this expanded commitment at the earliest possible date, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Agreement with Sticklen-Belsheim Engineering, 1776 East Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43203 for evaluation of the Hamilton Road Corridor (Triangle Area), expanded to include Hamilton Road and Johnstown Road to the north, in accordance with Scope of Services submitted under letter dated September 29, 1999, and in accordance with City specifications, cover letter attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That TWENTY-FOUR THOUSAND EIGHT-NINE DOLLARS ($24,089) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance in The General Fund to ACCOUNT NO. 101.145.5511, CAPITAL PROJECTS, STREETS, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation, and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on the date of signature approval by the Mayor.
