WHEREAS, Legal Counsel for the City, City Administrative Designees including the Director of Human Resources, and the Ohio Patrolmen's Benevolent Association Dispatcher Unit entered into contract negotiations in 2009 but were unable to come to an agreement, and went to Fact Finding in February 2010, and then on to binding conciliation in June of 2010; and

WHEREAS, the City recently received the report from the conciliator which awarded the City's wage package, and the Union's insurance package; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Human Resources has recommended we proceed to authorize the Mayor to enter into contract as the conciliator's decision is binding; and

WHEREAS, it is desirable to approve this Contract at the earliest possible date for employee morale, and continued protection for the community, all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety, and welfare;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into negotiated Labor Agreement, "AGREEMENT BETWEEN OHIO PATROLMEN'S BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION DISPATCHER UNIT AND CITY OF GAHANNA, OHIO, JANUARY 1, 2010 - DECEMBER 31, 2012, said Agreement attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.

Section 2. That the pay and benefits of this Agreement are effective retroactive to January 1, 2010.

Section 3. That ORD-0081-2007, passed April 16, 2007, and any ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed.
