WHEREAS, TINEY McCOMB was born on March 27, 1943 in Covington, Virginia and grew up in Huntersville, West Virginia; and
 
WHEREAS, TINEY McCOMB attended Marshall University in Huntington West Virginia, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking; and
 
WHEREAS, TINEY McCOMB was employed by Franklin Bank, a state chartered community bank, from 1968 to 1987, becoming President of the bank in 1978; and
 
WHEREAS, TINEY McCOMB was one of twelve selected in 1984 to complete a delegation from the People to People International Citizen Ambassador Program to the People's Republic of China in order to develop trade between China and the United States; and
 
WHEREAS, TINEY McCOMB had the vision, passion, and full commitment of community banking by establishing Heartland Bank in 1988; and
 
WHEREAS, TINEY McCOMB served as Chairman of the Board, President of Heartland Bancorp, and former Chairman of Heartland Investments; and
 
WHEREAS, TINEY McCOMB served as the Director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland from 1997-2002; and
 
WHEREAS, TINEY McCOMB served faithfully on the Community Improvement Corporation (C.I.C.) for ten years, including terms as president; and
 
WHEREAS, TINEY McCOMB earned countless honors and awards, including the Jeanne and John G. McCoy Community Service Award, and the 2010 Marshall University Alumna Community Achievement Award;
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
 
Section 1.  That this Council hereby honors the life of TINEY McCOMB for a lifetime of service, and many contributions to the Gahanna Community.
 
Section 2.  That this resolution shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
