WHEREAS, the stream that runs through the Cherry Bottom Detention Basin has silted in and is out of alignment with the culvert that goes under Cherry Bottom Road; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has asked that the bid process be waived and that letter quotes be accepted; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has recommended we proceed with John Eramo & Sons, Inc.; and

 

WHEREAS, the timely construction of this project is imperative, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with John Eramo & Sons, Inc., 1686 Williams Road, Columbus, OH  43207-5111, for rechanneling of the Cherry Bottom Detention Basin. 

 

Section 2.  That the bidding process is hereby waived for this project.

 

Section 3.  That funding in the amount of SIX THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY SIX DOLLARS ($6,756) was set aside in the 2003 appropriations in Account No. 230.350.5221, Storm Water Maintenance, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance shall be declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
