Title

TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT OF SALE AND PURCHASE OF THE ARMENTROUT PROPERTY LOCATED AT 6000 TAYLOR ROAD; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $149,000 THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

Body

WHEREAS, it has been recommended by the City Engineer and the Administration, and this Council agrees to the purchase of certain property known as 6000 Taylor Road which has a ponding area that has matured with the reconstruction of Taylor, but also  where a sewer will go through as well as a reserve where the nature preserve drains; and

 

WHEREAS, due to the many proposals in this area needing this sewer extension, it is desirable to proceed at the earliest possible date for orderly and planned growth for this area, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract of  Sale and Purchase for property known as 6000 Taylor Road, said Contract attached to this ordinance at EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.

 

Section 2.  That the amount of  ONE HUNDRED FORTY-NINE DOLLARS ($149,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance in the General Fund to Account No. 101.145.5541, Streets, Capital Projects.

 

Section 3.  That Ordinance No. 990001, passed January 2, 1999, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.

 

Section 4.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation, and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
