TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH WATCON CONSULTING ENGINEERS & SURVEYORS FOR CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION SERVICES FOR THE US 62 & STYGLER ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT; IMPROVEMENT NO. ST 935; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, with the awarding of the US 62 & Stygler Road Improvement project, inspection services will be needed; and
WHEREAS, proposal has been received from Watcon Consulting and the City Engineer has recommended we proceed with them for these services; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative that these inspections occur in a timely manner so that the project can be completed by the time school starts, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with WATCON CONSULTING ENGINEERS & SURVEYORS, 83 Shull Avenue, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, for inspection services for US 62 & Stygler Road Improvements, Improvement No. ST 935; proposal attached as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of SEVENTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($75,000) is available in Account No. 325.122.5596, Capital Improvements, Projects/Improvements, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
