TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH MOODY NOLAN LTD INC., FOR ENGINEERING DESIGN SERVICES FOR THE US62 MORSE ROAD INTERSECTION DESIGN; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, letter proposal for engineering design services, dated December 6, 2000, has been received and has been recommended by the City Engineer; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable and necessary to effect this contract at the earliest possible date in order that widening of this intersection may proceed in an orderly manner, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with MOODY NOLAN LTD INC., 1776 East Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43203-2039, for engineering services for the widening of the US62/Morse Road intersection, in accordance with proposal letter, dated December 6, 2000, attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and all in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of up to SEVENTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($75,000) was set aside in the 2001 Appropriations to ACCOUNT NO. 101.145.5533, Capital Projects, Engineering, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on the date of signature approval by the Mayor.
