TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO AWARD AND THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH GLOBAL CONTRACTING SERVICES TO REMOVE THREE GASOLINE TANKS FROM THE SERVICE COMPLEX ON OKLAHOMA AVENUE; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, as an part of the move of service activities to the new fueling facility, it is necessary to remove the three gasoline tanks from the Service Complex on Oklahoma Avenue; and
WHEREAS, bids were opened July 7, 1998, and the lowest responsive and responsible bidder has been recommended by the Director of Public Service; and
WHEREAS, due to other contracting work being done in the area, it is prudent to more forward with the completion of this project for the orderly reassembly of the area previously used as the City fuel area prior to the winter season, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Director of Public Service is hereby authorized to award, and the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into agreement with GLOBAL CONTRACTORS, 1900 Alum Creek Drive, Columbus Ohio, for removal of three gasoline tanks from the Gahanna Service Complex on Oklahoma Avenue in accordance with bid specifications and City specifications.
Section 2. That the amount of Forty-eight Thousand Two Hundred Sixty Eight Dollars ($48,268) is hereby supplementally appropriated and set aside from The General Fund to Account No. 101.141.5511, Capital Projects, Land and Buildings, to pay the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation, and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
