TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH THE GAHANNA JEFFERSON SCHOOL DISTRICT; FOR THE PROVISION OF SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS TO THE GAHANNA-JEFFERSON SCHOOL DISTRICT.

WHEREAS, two School Resource officers were assigned to Gahanna Lincoln High School for the last three school years and the program has been very successful and both the City and School District wish to continue this collaboration; and
WHEREAS, the cost of the School Resource Officers is split between the School District and the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with the Gahanna Jefferson School District to continue the School Resource Officers at Gahanna Lincoln High School for the 2010/2011 school year; said contract attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
