TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO SPRINT SOLUTIONS, INC., PARTICIPATING ADDENDUM TO SPRINT CELL PHONE CONTRACT FOR SERVICE DEPARTMENT PHONES, TO REDUCE THE MONTHLY COST; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the Service Department has 12 Sprint cell phones and are paying $15 each per month and have been notified by Sprint that under the Western States Contracting Alliance and Equipment Master Price Agreement No. S1523 the monthly cost can be reduced to $12.75 per phone; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has recommended we proceed to enter into Participating Addendum with Sprint to obtain this savings; and
WHEREAS, since this agreement will reduce the monthly rate paid for the phones the City desires to have it in place as soon as possible, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Participating Addendum under Western States Contracting Alliance Wireless Communication Services and Equipment Master Price Agreement No. S1523 with Sprint Solutions Inc., 12502 Sunrise Valley Drive, Reston, VA 20196, for Service Department cell phones; Participating Addendum attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
