TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO PROPERTY/LIABILITY INSURANCE RENEWAL CONTRACT WITH THE OHIO MUNICIPAL LEAGUE JOINT SELF INSURANCE POOL

WHEREAS, it is time to renew our contract for an additional year and it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Service to stay with the Ohio Municipal League Joint Self Insurance Pool for the 2006-2007 policy year; and
WHEREAS, the cost rate is the same as the 2005-2006 year; and
WHEREAS, Council concurs with this recommendation due to our loss history;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into renewal contract with the Ohio Municipal League Joint Self Insurance Pool, P.O. Box 640254, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45264-0254 to renew property/liability insurance.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY THREE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY THREE DOLLARS ($183,183) was set aside in the 2006 Appropriations in the following accounts.
Account Number 101.141.5282 - INSURANCE - LAND & BUILDINGS
Account Number 101.211.5284 - INSURANCE - POLICE
Account Number 101.433.5285 - INSURANCE - GOLF COURSE
Account Number 101.438.5285 - INSURANCE - POOL
Account Number 220.330.5281 - INSURANCE - STREETS
Account Number 651.350.5281 - INSURANCE - WATER
Account Number 661.360.5281 - INSURANCE - SEWER
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by Council and 30 days after signature of approval by the Mayor.
