TITLE
A RESOLUTION OF AUTHORIZATION TO APPLY FOR THE NATUREWORKS GRANT PROGRAM ADMINISTERED BY THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES FOR THE CREEKSIDE REIMAGINED PROJECT
BODY
WHEREAS, the State of Ohio, through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), administers financial assistance for public recreation purposes through the NatureWorks Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna is advancing the Creekside Reimagined Project through strategic investments that enhance the safety, resiliency, and long-term functionality of public recreational assets; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to submit an application to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources' NatureWorks Grant Program to assist with the purchase of a temporary flood barrier that can be deployed in advance of flooding events to protect the Creekside parking garage and public plaza from floodwater infiltration; and
WHEREAS, the NatureWorks Grant Program requires the governing body of the applicant to authorize the submission of the grant application and acknowledge its commitment to provide the required local matching funds in the event a grant is awarded.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Council of the City of Gahanna hereby authorizes the submission of an application to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for financial assistance through the NatureWorks Grant Program for the Creekside Reimagined Project.
Section 2. That the Mayor, or the Mayor's designee, is hereby authorized and directed to execute and file all applications, agreements, certifications, and other documents necessary to apply for and, if awarded, administer funding through the NatureWorks Grant Program, and to provide all information and documentation required by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
