TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH LOADOMETER CORPORATION FOR THE PURCHASE OF WHEEL LOAD WEIGHING DEVICES; AND TO WAIVE THE BIDDING PROCESS

WHEREAS, the Gahanna Police Department wishes to start a Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit, and portable scales are needed; wheel load weighing devices; and
WHEREAS, there is only one manufacturer of the scales in the United States, and the Chief of Police has asked that the bidding process be waived;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with LOADOMETER CORPORATION, 3 G Nashua Court, Baltimore, Maryland 21221, for purchase of 16 wheel load weighing devices.
Section 2. That the bidding process is hereby waived since there is only one manufacturer of these wheel load weighing devices in the United States.
Section 3. That the amount of Fifty Three Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($53,600) was appropriated in the 2000 Appropriations to Account No. 101.211.5512, Capital Project/Equipment Police to cover the herein costs.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after signature approval by the Mayor.
