TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH PLANET FORD, FOR THE PURCHASE OF FOUR FORD CROWN VICTORIA POLICE CRUISERS FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, new police cruisers are needed for the Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the City can access the State Bid list for the purchase; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this immediately, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into purchase agreement with Planet Ford, 2601 E. Alex Bell Road, Centerville, Ohio 45459, for the purchase of four Ford Crown Victoria police cruisers.
Section 2. That EIGHTY ONE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED EIGHTY EIGHT DOLLARS ($81,388) was set aside in the 2002 Appropriations to account number 101.211.5512, Capital Projects/Equipment, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That waiver of second has been requested.
Section 4. That for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature by the Mayor.
