To recognize and congratulate the GAHANNA LINCOLN HIGH SCHOOL DIVISION I GIRLS STATE CHAMPION TRACK & FIELD TEAM for their achievements.

WHEREAS, The members of City Council would like to recognize the Gahanna Lincoln High School Division 1 Track & Field team for completing a successful year under the leadership of Coach Roger Whittaker; and
WHEREAS, The team won its 6th consecutive OCC Championship, 6th consecutive District championship, 4th consecutive Regional Championship and 2nd Outdoor State Championship. The team has earned six state team titles in four years; and
WHEREAS, On opening day of this year’s state championship, the team set a state record of running 8 minutes, 53.49 seconds in the 4 x 800, which is also the fastest high school time in the nation; and
WHEREAS, The team won the school its first ever state girls team championship in Track & Field; and
WHEREAS, the members of Council are proud of all the team’s accomplishments and looks forward to the their success in the upcoming seasons.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Council hereby recognizes Gahanna Lincoln High School Division 1 Girls State Champion Track & Field Team.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council.
