TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A ENERGY PROCUREMENT ADVISORY AGREEMENT WITH TRADITION ENERGY; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City has decided that it would be best served by pricing electric supply through the request for proposal (RFP) process, but we do not have the in-house expertise to prepare comparison of this complex commodity; and
WHEREAS, Tradition Energy is a leading energy market research group and the Director of Public Service has recommended we enter into agreement with them to utilize Tradition Energy for creation and management of the energy supply RFP for the City of Gahanna; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this ordinance as it presents the possibility of saving the City money, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into ENERGY PROCUREMENT ADVISORY AGREEMENT with TRADITION ENERGY, 680 Washington Blvd., Stamford, CT 06901 for energy management and/or procurement advisory services for the City of Gahanna; Agreement attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereto and incorporated herein by this reference, this Ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect upon passage by this Council and the signature of approval by the Mayor.
