TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AMENDED CONTRACT WITH STILLION BROTHERS EXCAVATING, INC. FOR THE RELOCATION OF THE WATERLINE ON THE PROPERTY OF 207 HIGHMEADOW; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, this contract was authorized by ORD-0045-2007 and the waterline has now been relocated on the property at 207 Highmeadow; and

 

WHEREAS, a change order was necessary at a cost of $2,500 to exactly locate the existing waterline; and

 

WHEREAS, funding needs to be authorized for this change order and it is desirable and necessary to complete the paperwork on this project in a timely fashion; all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into amended Contract with STILLION BROTHERS EXCAVATING, 4022 COLE ROAD, PERRYSVILLE, OHIO 44864, for the 207 Highmeadow Waterline Relocation (WA 126), in accordance with City specifications, said proposal attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.

 

Section 2.  That TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS ($2,000) is hereby reallocated  from funds encumbered by Purchase Order 701519 from the Columbus Academy to Stillion Brothers Excavating for payment of a portion of this change order.

 

Section 3.  That FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500) was appropriated to Account No. 651.350.5416, Waterline Repair, in the 2008 appropriations and is hereby designated to be used on this project.

 

Section 4.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and on the date of signature approval by the Mayor.
