WHEREAS, the GIS Department is in need of software for the ArcIMS system which is a standards based tool that lets you quickly distribute mapping and GIS data and services on the web; and

 

WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Information & Technology Director to proceed with ESRI; and

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this ordinance all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into purchase agreement with ESRI, 64 Granville Street, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, for software for the ArcIMS system for the GIS Department, in accordance with City specifications.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of SIXTEEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED NINETY ONE DOLLARS ($16,591) was set aside in the 2003 Appropriations to Account No. 101.355.5511, GIS Capital, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
