TITLE
A JOINT RESOLUTION AND PROCLAMATION OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO, SUPPORTING THE OHIO COMMISSION FOR THE UNITED STATES SEMIQUINCENTENNIAL (AMERICA250-OH)
BODY
WHEREAS, the Ohio legislature and the Governor created AMERICA250-OH in 2018 to plan, encourage, develop, and coordinate the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the United States and Ohio's integral role in that event and the role of its people on the nation's past, present and future; and
WHEREAS, AMERICA250-OH hopes to engage ALL Ohioans and ALL 88 counties through their many officially-recognized and signature programs, projects and events over the next several years by inspiring future leaders and celebrating all Ohioans’ contributions to the Nation over the last 250 years; and
WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna has a rich and diverse history that has significantly impacted and contributed to widespread cultural and societal development throughout the Columbus Region, the State of Ohio, and beyond; and
WHEREAS, by adoption of this AMERICA250-OH Joint Resolution and Proclamation, the City of Gahanna hopes to educate, preserve, innovate, and celebrate the history of our city and the important role it has had in the growth of Ohio and in the advancement of our country.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT JOINTLY RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL AND PROCLAIMED BY THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the City of Gahanna hereby endorses AMERICA250-OH and their mission to educate, preserve, innovate and celebrate EVERY Ohioan in EVERY county.
Section 2. That a copy of this resolution be sent to the Municipal legislative delegation and AMERICA250-OH Commission.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
