TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO LEASE AGREEMENT WITH JEFFERSON LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT RECREATION COUNCIL FOR ONE YEAR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, for several years the City has entered into a Lease Agreement with Jefferson Local School District Recreation Council for use of their fields for the City-wide soccer program; and
WHEREAS, the current Lease Agreement has expired and it is the recommendation of the Administration that the City lease for an additional year; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to authorize a new Lease Agreement for the continuity of the City-wide soccer program, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into "Lease Agreement" with the Jefferson Local School District Recreation Council, said Agreement attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That Six Thousand Two Hundred Dollars ($6,200) was set aside in the 2000 Appropriations, in Account No. 101.432.5421, Recreation Program Services, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
