TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO LEASE AGREEMENT WITH RAILS-TO-TRAILS CONSERVANCY, OHIO CHAPTER, 4371 CHERRYBOTTOM ROAD, GAHANNA

WHEREAS, the City has demonstrated its support and dedication to the Bikeway and Trails Movement through the establishment of the Bicycle Advisory Board and the creation of the Gahanna Bikeway Master Plan; and
WHEREAS, because of the City's Bikeways and Bike Routes, both existing and planned, Gahanna has been designated as a Bicycle Friendly Community; and
WHEREAS, the Ohio Rails-To-Trails Conservancy, Ohio Chapter, was searching for a headquarters in Central Ohio; and
WHEREAS, it is possible that the Conservancy and the City will work together in procuring funding assistance for future bikeways;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Lease Agreement with Rails-To-Trails Conservancy, Ohio Chapter, 4371 Cherrybottom Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, said Agreement attached to this ordinance and made a part hereof as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after signature of approval by the Mayor.
