WHEREAS, CAL BERKEY opened a gas station in Gahanna around 40 years ago at the corner of Hamilton and Morrison Roads; and
WHEREAS, BARBARA BERKEY worked alongside her husband making work orders and ordering parts while CAL BERKEY did the mechanical work; and
WHEREAS, both CAL & BARBARA were known for lending a hearing ear and making charitable fill ups and repairs at their station when someone was in trouble; and
WHEREAS, both CAL & BARBARA say they enjoyed the work, and their son says they lived their dream together; and
WHEREAS, CAL & BARBARA's dedication to the Gahanna community for the last 40 years has helped make Gahanna the friendly, caring community that it is;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That CAL & BARBARA BERKEY are hereby honored and commended for the great contribution they have made to the Gahanna community.
Section 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
