TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH HOCKADEN & ASSOCIATES FOR THE PRELIMINARY DESIGN OF THE JAMES ROAD BRIDGE; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $4,600; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of City Council and the City Engineer that the James Road bridge is in disrepair, and needs work as soon as possible; and
WHEREAS, letterhead quotes have been received and the City Engineer has recommended we proceed; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this preliminary design to work to repair the bridge all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. To authorize the Mayor to enter into Agreement with Hockaden & Associates, 883 North Cassady Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43219, for the preliminary study and design of the James Road Bridge over Turkey Run, in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of FORTY SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS ($4,600) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the General Fund to Account No. 101.145.5533, Capital Projects, Engineering, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That ORD-0001-2002 passed January 2, 2002 is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
