TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH COLUMBUS POOL MANAGEMENT FOR POOL OPERATIONS AT HUNTERS RIDGE POOL AND GAHANNA SWIMMING POOL; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks & Recreation completed the RFP process for pool operations for the 2014 season; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Parks & Recreation recommended we proceed with Columbus Pool Management to contract for the pool operations; and
WHEREAS, the benefits of contracting pool operations is appropriate due to the City's current financial situation and the Department's ongoing challenge of reduced staffing; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to secure this contract as soon as possible in order to open the pools in time for the 2014 season, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into an Agreement with COLUMBUS POOL MANAGEMENT, 8185 Green Meadows Drive North, Suite T, Lewis Center, OH 43035, for pool operations at Hunters Ridge Pool and Gahanna Swimming Pool, which Agreement is attached as Exhibit A and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of FIFTY SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($57,000) was set aside in 2014 and will be transferred to Account No. 101.438.5249, Hunters Ridge Pool (HRP) contract services, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That funding in the amount of ONE HUNDRED THIRTY-FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS ($134,000) was set aside in 2014 and will be transferred to Account No. 101.440.5249, Gahanna Swimming Pool (GSP) contract services, to cover the herein costs.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereto and incorporated herein by this reference, this Ordinance is declared emergency legislation and will be in full force and effect upon passage by Council and the signature of approva...
