WHEREAS, the Police Department is in need of a large capacity four wheel drive vehicle with the latest technology; and
 
WHEREAS, the two four wheel drive vehicles we have in our police fleet are  almost 10 years old, and the new vehicle can be purchased off the State contact; and
 
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this purchase as soon as possible, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF  THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
 
Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into purchase agreement with WHITESIDE CHEVROLET, 50714 National Road,  St. Clairsville, Ohio 43950, for a 2010 Flex-Fuel Chevrolet Tahoe Four Wheel Drive police vehicle from the State contract #RS901410; Agreement attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
 
Section 2.  That funding in the amount of THIRTY THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($30,100) is available in Account No. 235.211.5411, Federal Law Enforcement Trust Fund Expense, to cover the herein costs.
 
Section 3.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on 30 DAYS AFTER date of signature approval by the Mayor.
