WHEREAS, bids were opened for the 2006 Concrete Street Repair Program on May 19, 2006 and Council is proceeding to award the contract; and

 

WHEREAS, inspection services are needed in conjunction with the awarding  of the contract, and the City Engineer has recommend we proceed with W.E. Stilson Consulting; and

 

WHEREAS, due to the impending construction season is imperative to move forward with the legislation, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with W.E. Stilson Consulting Group, 355 E. Campus View Blvd., Suite 250, Columbus, Ohio 43235, for inspection services for the 2006 Concrete Street Repair Program, Improvement No. 890; in accordance with City specifications.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($25,100) was set aside in the 2006 Appropriations to Account No. 325.122.5548, Capital Improvements.

 

Section 3.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
