WHEREAS, amended proposal has been received from Evans, Mechwart, Hambleton & Tilton, for a portion of the design of improvements for a roadway across the Buckles Property to align with a future planned extension of Tech Center Drive across I-270, and the City Engineer has recommended we accept it and proceed; and

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this design work to help alleviate the traffic flow problem in the Hamilton and Morrison Road area, all for the preservation of the public, peace, health, safety and welfare:

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Amendment to Agreement with EVANS, MECHWART, HAMBLETON & TILTON, INC., 170 Mill Street, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, for design improvements in conjunction with the extension of Tech Center Drive, Improvement No. 762, 770 and 771; said Amended Agreement attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A.

 

Section 2.  That to cover the herein costs, funding in the amount of EIGHTY SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($87,000) was appropriated in the 2001 Appropriations to Account No.321.225.5548, Capital Projects.

 

Section 3.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
